Duke "El Salsero" Rallo, aka Mr. Tumbao
A musician at heart, Duke began his formal dance training in 1995 at North Atlanta High School of Performing Arts. After starting the University of Georgia in 1999, Duke joined the UGA Ballroom Performance Group and was a member for four seasons. He has directed two salsa dance companies, and was a member of one of Atlanta's premier salsa dance companies. He has taught, danced and performed in every region of the U.S excluding the northeast, and has done the same in three international countries. He was the Triangle Champion for the Southeast Region in Cha Cha Cha, Mambo, and Swing. It became evident in 2001 that of all the dances, he had a passion and a natural talent for the Latin dances. He found a mentor in a native of Curacao who taught him LA salsa and introduced him to one of the most dynamic salseras ever to grace a dance floor. Duke has an amazing talent as a dancer and is equally gifted as a teacher. As of late, he has redirected his focus to learning and understanding the history and science of music... after all, music (whether from an instrument or in our heads) is the motivation for dance. It is through this self initiated study of music theory and ways to simplify and integrate it into TNTumbao Entertainment that Duke intends to amplify the experience of his students.
